Hi everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Something tells me that this is going to be the best summer ever. I feel so solidified where I am in life right now and I know that more good is to come! I worked very hard this school year and now I’m ready to relax and have some summer fun! It wouldn’t be a Cayleigh summer if it wasn’t jam packed with things to do and goals to achieve. Let’s dive into what I have planned!
I have a bunch of things planned that I’m beyond excited about! This week I’m celebrating my 18th birthday with my besties (3 weeks early) before we all leave for our adventures! Later this week I head to my local HOBY seminar to return as a Junior Staff member. I’m so grateful to have been selected to come back since I had so much fun last year as an ambassador! This camp is all about leadership, meeting new people, and making a positive difference in the world. I couldn’t be more excited to return to the HOBY atmosphere and make more memories!
The following week I begin my Internship with a marketing firm in Raleigh, North Carolina! My teacher told me about this opportunity a day before the application was do so I cranked it out and miraculously was selected! I’m so pumped for this opportunity to learn from the amazing staff of girl bosses! Throughout the week I will update y’all over on my Instagram about it and maybe do a blog post recapping what I did & learned!
Next I’m heading to my last EVER running camp with a handful of my teammates! We’ve never been to this camp before so it’ll be an all new campus, schedule, and staff! I’m looking forward to learning from these coaches, bonding, and having a blast with my teammates! You’ll definitely be seeing updates from me and Ellie on our Instagrams as we take on camp for the second year in a row!
After camp I’m road tripping to Maine with my family for a couple of weeks! “Camp”, aka my grandparents lake home, is my favorite place in the world. I can’t wait to hug my grandparents, beat everyone in cards/games, spend time on the lake, shop, and celebrate my eighteenth birthday! We always visit lots of cool places so I’m also looking forward to snapping fun pictures for the gram!
After our travels in Maine I’m home for the rest of summer! Cross country workouts start as soon as we get out for summer so I will be attending practices more consistently. I have a few babysitting gigs planned and hopefully a few more will pop up as summer progresses. My parents and I also may attend one or two local country concerts since some of our favorite artists will be in town! I also plan on getting organized and ahead on all my clubs and responsibilities for the fall. We have a lot of events to do for student council and I’m super excited to have more say in what we do now that I’m a senior!
Blogging more is a huge goal of mine for summer and I look forward to being much more consistent with my uploads! I didn’t put this on the list but I may look into starting a YouTube channel? That one is definitely up in the air but let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in seeing from me! I also want to collaborate with more bloggers and brands this summer! I love sharing the people and products that I love with y’all and I think it would be a lot of fun! I may even do a “girl boss” blogger take over one week!
Cleaning my room is another top priority for me this summer! I’ve let my room get super messy this school year and it’s time to change that! I have a bunch of items that need to be posted on my Poshmark and I’m so ready to just get rid of everything! I want to donate things I don’t need or use anymore, vacuum, dust, and organize everything! If I dedicate a day or two to this I think it’s totally obtainable!
The next thing I have planned this summer is working on my college applications! Wow that’s such a weird sentence for me to write. I don’t think it’s quite hit me yet that I’m actually going to college in a year and I don’t think it will until I dive deeper into the college process. I have a solid list of schools that I’m interested in and a good basis to start! I have my common app essay already written but it still needs some tweaking before it’s submission ready. I also need to finish writing my brag sheet and begin asking my coaches/teachers for recommendations. I then want to apply to as many scholarships as humanly possible. Getting the majority of this out of the way this summer is going to be so helpful in making senior year less stressful.
This summer I also want to make an effort to focus on exercising and feeling confident in my body. I think with the combination of summer workouts, strength training at PT, and sticking to a core routine will help me achieve this.
Thank you so much for reading today’s post! I hope you enjoyed! I would love to know what you have planned for summer, leave me a comment or send me a DM on Instagram!
Love from North Carolina,
